At the thematic exchange meeting, special guest Dr. Sun Wenyuan from the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences presented a talk titled Exploring the Association between Geological Heritage and Natural (Biological) Heritage in China's Global Geoparks. She cited examples of the association between natural and cultural heritage in multiple domestic geoparks and proposed relevant suggestions in conjunction with the evaluation and interpretation work of global geoparks. Wu Shanwu, a representative of Ningde GlobalGeopark, introduced the current status of biodiversity in Baishuiyang, an area that serves as a crucial habitat for rare and endangered flora and fauna, boasting extremely rich biological resources.

The exchange activity also included visits to the Longyan Global Geopark - Chinese Tiger Pavilion, the Taxus chinensis Ecological Garden, Guanxiashan Scenic Area, and the Longyan Global Geopark Museum. Through the park's educational signage system, digital exhibition system, and successful cases integrating underground economy with ecological restoration, participants gained insights into the achievements of Longyan Global Geopark in geological heritage and biodiversity conservation, as well as the unique role of geoparks in biodiversity protection and the importance of the Global Geopark brand in promoting local industrial development and supporting community economic growth.

Ningde Global Geopark will take this event as a new starting point to further advance its biodiversity conservation endeavors. Leveraging its unique natural endowments, it will deepen exchanges and cooperation with global sister geoparks, contributing positively to the protection of the Earth's natural and cultural heritage and promoting the harmonious and sustainable coexistence of humanity and nature.
