Introduction to Jiulong

Jiulongdong is located in the central part of Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark, in the middle reaches of the Chanxi Stream, and covers an area of 15.24 square kilometers. Here lies a magnificent and imposing miarolite mountain landscape, while the flluvial erosion landforms on the bedrock riverbed are even more spectacular. Along the riverbed and cliffs of Jiulongdong, numerous micro-landforms are densely distributed, including potholes, water erosion grooves, and vertical arc-shaped grooves. Boasting an abundant quantity, complete variety, large individual scale, systematic development and intact preservation, these landforms are unparalleled in the world. They possess extremely high ornamental and scientific research value, serving as a natural museum of water erosion micro-landforms and a shining showcase of the Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark.
