Puyuan Village is a village under the administration of Puyuan Town in Zhouning County, Ningde City, Fujian Province. Situated at the foot of Ziyun Mountain and downstream of the Liyuxi (Carp Stream), it serves as the seat of the Puyuan Town People's Government. The village was founded in the 2nd year of the Jiading era of the Southern Song Dynasty (1209 CE) when the Zheng family settled there. It is renowned for its unique tradition of raising carp along the stream, a custom preserved for over 800 years. The stream is home to nearly ten thousand carp. Official protection decrees were issued during the Ming and Qing dynasties, and cultural relics such as a fish cemetery remain. In 2013, it was listed among China's Traditional Villages. Leveraging its distinctive cultural landscape, the village has developed a tourism-integrated model, establishing a National 4A-level Scenic Area and linking with surrounding villages to form the Greater Liyuxi Scenic Area.
