As a pilot school for the construction of compulsory education curriculum reform bases in Fujian Province, Fuding Experimental Primary School has developed the "Integration & Innovation" curriculum reform system, which covers curriculum restructuring, teaching model innovation and interdisciplinary integration practices. The school has several campuses including Chaoyin Island, Chixi and Baisheng. It has constructed a three-level and four-dimensional Integration & Innovation curriculum system, forming four categories of courses: foundational, comprehensive, specialty-focused and inquiry-based.
The school traces its origins back to Tongshan Academy, founded in the 16th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1751). In the 31st year of the Guangxu reign (1905), the academy was restructured into a government-run higher primary school. In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was renamed Fuding Government-run No.1 Higher Primary School. In the 5th year of the Republic of China, it was renamed County-run Tongshan Primary School. In the 27th year of the Republic of China, it merged with County-run Yuren Primary School and was renamed Tongshan Central Primary School. At the end of 1995, it was officially named Fuding Experimental Primary School, a title that has been retained to this day. Having undergone several name changes throughout its history, the school boasts a long-standing legacy and a rich, eventful past.
